I grew up in southern Indiana on a small horse farm, raising and showing reining and ranch horses. Beyond showing horses, I was very involved in her local 4-H, especially in the Jr. Leaders, horse and pony, and dog obedience clubs. Additionally, I was very active in her local FFA chapter as an officer for several years and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and National Reining Horse Association.
I attended Murray State University as a Presidential Fellowship scholar and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education. While at MSU, I was very involved in revamping the Horticulture Club, showed horses on the IHSA Stock Team, and was the University Beekeeper. I also completed an Honors Thesis research project focusing on training pre-service teachers to better work with exceptional populations of students in the agriculture classroom. I completed her Master of Science in Agriculture from Murray State University in May of 2024, and will be completing my Educational Specialist degree in Ag. Ed. from MSU in May of 2026.
I am in my fourth year of teaching as an agriculture educator and FFA advisor at Madisonville North Hopkins High School. MNHHS is located in western Kentucky, specifically in the city of Madisonville. It is one of two high schools in the district, servicing students in grades 9-12. I teach primarily within the Animal Science pathway but also teach the introductory agriscience courses as well. My favorite class to teach is Veterinary Science, as animal health care and handling is a huge passion of mine and I love getting to work with our ten species of small animals we have too!
In my time outside of school, I love to cook and try new foods and restaurants with my fiancé. Additionally, I love to garden, ride horses, and spend time with my two corgis. I love to hike and and travel to see the United States’ National Parks when able to as well!
