As the landscape of education evolves, it is imperative for agricultural educators to create inclusive environments where all students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, feel valued and supported. This workshop aims to equip agriculture teachers with the necessary tools and strategies to cultivate an environment that fosters acceptance, understanding, and support for LGBTQ+ students. Grounded in empirical data collected from former and current agricultural students who identify as LGBTQ+, this workshop offers practical insights and actionable steps to promote inclusivity within agricultural education settings. The workshop will explore the experiences and perspectives of LGBTQ+ students in the classroom, addressing challenges they may face and highlighting the importance of creating safe spaces where all students feel respected and valued.
