Utilizing Our Global Agriculture Community to Stretch Students Outside Their Comfort Zone to Develop Independence and Responsibility
Thursday December 5, 2024 3:15pm - 3:45pm CST
Agriculture teachers know that our classroom extends outside the ag room and school. Many of us take students to various competitions and conventions in and out of state. Why not teach them beyond our borders? Learn from an experienced agriculture teacher who has taken students outside of the United States on agriculture tours. Students experience where imported food comes from, are immersed in local culture and customs, and experience how people live in other countries. By working with companies like Education First (EF), teachers receive support with training, tour selection, student recruitment, trip preparations (itineraries, lodging, flights), and on-tour logistics. See what students have experienced on agriculture tours in the Dominican Republic and Ireland. Find out how you can make the world your classroom!
